Few automotive brands have as loyal a following as BMW.
The BMW drivers that bring their cars and SUVs to Milito’s Auto Repair absolutely love their vehicles, and we take great pride in the trust placed in our team to work on them. In fact, owning a BMW is such a point of pride and personal interest, people create and join clubs dedicated to them throughout Chicago and around the world!
From time to time, a newer BMW owner will come to the shop for routine maintenance and ask about such clubs in the area. We’ve also had avid aficionados new to the Chicagoland area looking for a BMW club to join.
With those people in mind, and the wide world of Chicago BMW owners we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, here’s a brief guide to the greater Chicagoland area’s best BMW club.
Windy City BMW Club of Chicago
For Chicago BMW enthusiasts, Windy City BMW is the premier club to join. One of the largest and most active chapters of the BMW Car Club of America, this group hosts a variety of gatherings throughout the year, including autocross events and car control clinics, an annual picnic, charity events, and various “Membership Meeting” activities. Members can borrow tools, learn about the history of BMW, connect with likeminded drivers, and participate in driving tours, among many other benefits. Each member also receives a monthly newsletter detailing upcoming events, special announcements, and stories of BMW owners across the region.
As a chapter member of Windy City BMW, drivers also have access to the larger network of the BMWCCA. The nationwide club offers discounts for parts, an annual vehicle raffle, information about events across the country, and opportunities to win prizes from industry partners. Annual dues (at the time of this report) are just $58 per year, and all models are welcome.
Chicago-Based BMW Clubs on Social Media
Social Media platforms like Facebook are also a great place to connect with other BMW lovers. Not only are there broad groups (like the 2,000+ member “Chicago BMW Enthusiasts Club” and a group for the Windy City BMW chapter mentioned above), there are also numerous Chicago-based groups dedicated to specific models and years. Simply search for your BMW type and find a community to connect with!
While these “clubs” are less official than chapters of the BMWCCA, they are a wonderful way to gain knowledge, find rare parts, buy/sell/trade, and of course, see everyone else’s beautiful cars!
