Winter Performance of Bridgestone® Blizzak DM-V2® Tires
Back in 2018, Javier, a long-time customer came to us for robust snow tires for his 2015 Jeep Cherokee. We recommended the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 (275/55R20) for their reputation & performance.
Javier recently came back in for some routine maintenance on his daughter’s vehicle, so we asked how they were holding up after many winters of use. He was kind enough to send us this review.
“The Bridgestone Blizzak tires have been nothing short of amazing over the last three winters. I’ve easily put a few thousand miles on them between commutes from Mundelein to Lincoln Park and back, numerous trips to Wisconsin to visit family, and traveling to Bloomington for my son’s college winter breaks.
With unpredictable midwest winters and wanting to spend more time with my aging parents all the way up in Green Bay, I knew I wanted a snow tire that would help me make these snowy drives with confidence. And the Blizzak tires deliver every time.”

“I drive a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, which already does pretty well in the snow and ice, but the Blizzaks made winter driving even more stable. The grip and stopping distance is impressive, and I have no trouble navigating my snowy neighborhood even when I have to leave early in the morning, before the plows have made their rounds. On one particularly rough trip up north, we saw cars and semis in the ditch all along the highway, but my Jeep never lost traction and we made it safely to my mom’s place without incident.
The tires still work well in dry conditions too, with maybe a little bit of reduced handling and a little bit of tire noise on dry pavement – but that’s to be expected with snow tires, and certainly not a dealbreaker. They seem to deal with nasty Chicago potholes better than my stock tires too. After three winters, they’re showing very little wear, which is another factor that makes me feel great about this investment. I’ll be using these tires for years to come, and I like them so much that when they do finally wear out, I’ll definitely be getting another set!
