Tire Review: Michelin CrossClimate2®

Upgrading to a Rugged Tire with Michelin CrossClimate2®

Last fall, a new customer reached out for assistance finding a rugged tire upgrade for his 2020 Nissan Rogue. Daniel, who is self-employed and loves to travel, wanted to make sure he had reliable tires for both highway and country roads that would serve him well in all the weather he’s likely to encounter in his adventures across the country.

After considering a few options, he went with the 235/60R18 CrossClimate2 from Michelin, a Grand Touring All Season tire that checked all of Daniel’s required boxes. We followed up with him recently and asked for a review.

This is what Daniel had to say about his experience with the Michelin CrossClimate2:

“I love these tires! In the months they were installed on my car, I’ve driven some 20k miles across the US visiting national parks, camping, skiing, visiting friends, and exploring every little corner of the country that I can! Over the course of those travels (and they’re still ongoing), I’ve had to navigate a ton of weather, a ton of different driving conditions, and about every kind of road you can imagine. The CrossClimate2 has performed fantastically through everything I’ve put them through!

Since I mostly have good things to say, let’s get a couple of downsides out of the way first. I noticed a little dip in my MPG, but nothing major, and they were a little bit more expensive than other options I looked at. Otherwise, everything about them is excellent.”

Tire Review for Michelin CrossClimate2 by Milito's Auto Repair, Chicago IL 60614 - MilitosAutoRepair.com

Michelin CrossClimate2 are a great set of tires, and I’d recommend them for anyone who does as much driving as I do!

“Since I got these tires last October, I’ve been in rain, snow, ice, back country, dry highways… And they’re reliable all the time. They seem to reduce hydroplaning, had no problem climbing my friend’s steep driveway in a foot of snow, and in a couple of close calls on the highway, the braking power and stop distance was truly impressive.

On top of all that great performance, they look good! I liked the tread pattern, and just accepted that they might be a little noisier because of it – but I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t much tire noise. As they’ve worn a little, I think the road noise has increased slightly, but it’s still minimal and a welcome tradeoff for the traction and peace of mind. I was home in Chicago for a little while over the winter, and didn’t even consider swapping out for the snow tires I usually have installed.

These are a great set of tires, and I’d recommend them for anyone who does as much driving as I do, especially if you’re going state to state, through different weather, and dealing with dirt roads, gravel, and other unpredictable conditions.”

Thanks Daniel for such a detailed and glowing review!

We’re always thrilled to hear when a customer has such a great experience with tires we recommend.
